Air Conditioning Guide
Stay cool and comfortable during your summer stay with our air conditioning systems.
System Overview
The property has separate AC units for different areas:
Living Room and Kitchen
- Location: To the left of the TV
- Type: Mitsubishi unit
- Seasonal Use: Turned on in summer, off in winter
Bedroom
- Location: In the bedroom
- Type: Separate unit with its own controller
- Important: Different controllers for heat and AC - check the labels!
Seasonal Operation
⚠️ Important: The air conditioning systems are:
- Turned OFF in winter (heating season)
- Turned ON in summer (cooling season)
If you arrive and the AC isn’t responding, it may be set to seasonal mode. See troubleshooting section below or contact us.
Operating Instructions
Living Room/Kitchen AC

Locate the remote - Should be near the TV area

Turn on the unit
- Press the Power button on the remote
- Wait for the unit to respond (may take a few seconds)

Set to cooling mode
- Press the Mode button until cooling (snowflake icon) is selected
- Some units show this as “Cool” on the display

Set your desired temperature
- Use the temperature up/down buttons
- Recommended range: 72-76°F (22-24°C)
- Allow time for the room to cool

Adjust fan speed (optional)
- Press Fan button to cycle through speeds:
- Auto (recommended)
- Low
- Medium
- High
- Press Fan button to cycle through speeds:
Bedroom AC

Check the controller label
- ⚠️ The bedroom has different controllers for heat and AC
- Make sure you’re using the AC controller
- Look for labels on the wall controllers

Turn on the AC
- Press Power button on the AC controller

Set cooling mode and temperature
- Select Cool mode
- Adjust temperature to your preference
Remote Control Functions
Power Button
Turns the unit on/off
Mode Button
Cycles through operating modes:
- Cool (snowflake icon)
- Heat (sun icon)
- Dry/Dehumidify (water drop icon)
- Fan only
- Auto
Temperature Buttons
- Up arrow: Increase temperature
- Down arrow: Decrease temperature
Fan Speed Button
Adjust airflow:
- Auto (system decides)
- Low (quiet)
- Medium
- High (maximum cooling)
Swing/Louver Button
Controls air direction:
- Auto swing (moves automatically)
- Fixed positions
Optimal Settings
For Normal Cooling
- Mode: Cool
- Temperature: 72-74°F (22-23°C)
- Fan: Auto
- Louvers: Auto swing
For Quick Cooling
- Mode: Cool
- Temperature: 68-70°F (20-21°C)
- Fan: High
- Louvers: Horizontal (down)
For Overnight
- Mode: Cool
- Temperature: 74-76°F (23-24°C)
- Fan: Low
- Louvers: Fixed (not blowing directly on bed)
Energy Saving Tips
- Close curtains/blinds to block sunlight
- Keep doors closed when AC is running
- Set temperature to 74-76°F rather than extremely cold
- Use ceiling fans in conjunction with AC
- Turn off AC when leaving for extended periods
Troubleshooting
AC Won’t Turn On
Check Power
- Ensure unit is plugged in
- Check circuit breaker (see Washing Machine guide for breaker location)
Check Season
- AC may be in winter mode
- Contact us to switch seasonal settings
Check Remote Batteries
- Replace remote batteries if needed
Not Cooling Properly
Check Settings
- Verify unit is in Cool mode (not Fan only)
- Lower temperature setting
- Increase fan speed
Check Air Flow
- Ensure vents are open and unobstructed
- Clean or check filters
- Remove any objects blocking the unit
Check Room Conditions
- Close windows and doors
- Close blinds to block sun
- Allow adequate time for cooling (15-30 minutes)
Unit is Too Loud
- Check fan speed (reduce if too high)
- Ensure unit is securely mounted
- Clean filters (dirty filters cause strain)
- If excessive noise persists, contact us
Water Dripping from Unit
- Small amounts of condensation are normal
- Check that drain line isn’t blocked
- If excessive, turn off unit and contact us
Remote Not Working
- Replace batteries in remote
- Point remote directly at unit
- Remove any obstructions between remote and unit
- Check for indicator light on unit when pressing buttons
Important Reminders
Bedroom AC Controllers
⚠️ Critical: The bedroom has separate controllers for heating and air conditioning. Always check the labels to ensure you’re using the correct controller.
Seasonal Settings
The AC systems are seasonally configured. If you need AC turned on and it’s not responding, please contact us.
Temperature Range
Don’t set temperature too low (below 68°F/20°C) as this can:
- Freeze the coils
- Waste energy
- Not cool faster
